American Rescue Plan Dominates Headlines Across Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Democratic Party, the organization that advocates for the future of Indiana and its families, today celebrated a weekend where Hoosiers across Indiana learned about how the American Rescue Plan would directly benefit struggling Indiana families during the pandemic. This COVID-19 relief package was approved by an overwhelming 76-percent public majority, including a majority of Republicans, and it’s because this law will deliver $1400 checks to Hoosiers, help fix the state’s “disappointing” state vaccine rollout, and help lift more than 80,000 children out of poverty. It’s a winning law that Congressmen André Carson and Frank Mrvan Jr. were proud to support last week.

There’s so much to celebrate with the American Rescue Plan, which makes the Indiana Republican Party’s opposition that much disappointing. From Governor Eric Holcomb to U.S. Senators Mike Braun and Todd Young and the Republicans in the state’s congressional delegation, the INGOP chose to stiff struggling Hoosiers when they needed help the most. Their partisan opposition continues to prove their are a party without a vision for Indiana and its families and would rather pursue an agenda based on anger and grievance over science and truth.

Here’s a sampling of what Hoosiers saw this weekend:
