INDems Delivering American Rescue Plan’s Good News to All of Indiana’s 92 Counties

Navigator Research: About 55-percent of rural Americans – including Hoosiers – have heard little to nothing about President Joe Biden’s American Rescue Plan

ICYMI: The American Rescue Plan is approved by more than 70-percent of Americans, including many Hoosiers

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Democratic Party, the organization that advocates for the future of Indiana and its families, today continued its commitment of delivering the good news of President Joe Biden’s American Rescue Plan by equipping all of Indiana’s 92 counties with specific information about the Rescue Plan’s impact on each county and for Hoosier families who call the state home. Democrats view this project as essential because according to recent polling, rural Hoosiers have heard the least about the Rescue Plan and what it delivers for Indiana. This means they are less likely to have heard about the $5.8 billion in relief for Indiana’s cities and towns, the $250 million in broadband expansion projects, and the $2 billion being used to keep our kids safe in the classrooms

“The American Rescue Plan is hugely popular with Hoosiers. It’s delivering much-needed relief to our families, workers, and communities while also putting COVID-19 in the rearview mirror. This good news is sadly rare in today’s politics, and it’s why Indiana Democrats are set to go on offense by delivering this information directly to Hoosier families in the communities they call home,” said Lauren Ganapini, executive director for the Indiana Democratic Party. “Partnerships between state and federal leaders must be celebrated, because policies like the Rescue Plan are helping Indiana build back better so that our families and children can have a better future. Democrats are confident this kind of responsible government will trump the Republicans’ extreme partisanship, and we’re ready to do the work to make this happen.”

Because of recent research data, the Indiana Democratic Party is taking action by providing each of the Party’s county parties specific information about how the American Rescue Plan is helping Hoosiers in their communities. Every county will receive information (like above) about how much of the Rescue Plan is providing for the county as well as its schools and towns. This project is a part of a larger effort by the Democrats to show up everywhere and deliver its vision of building a better tomorrow for the state and the families who call Indiana home. With the American Rescue Plan achieving an approval of 71-percent among voters, Indiana Democrats believe the more the Party meets voters where they are, the greater likelihood Hoosiers will approve of the partnerships that were created from state and federal leaders in order to put COVID-19 in the rearview mirror.

In contrast, the Indiana Republican Party doubled down on its extreme partisanship by voting “no” on the American Rescue Plan last March. In fact, despite accepting the cash and promoting popular policies of the relief package – Republicans like U.S. Senator Mike Braun are actively rooting against the success of the law and Indiana’s recovery from COVID-19. Hoosiers should expect nothing less from the INGOP, because it’s become clear they are struggling with an identity crisis and would rather base its agenda on a partisan litmus test aimed to appeal to an unpopular, out-of-office, one-term president. This crusade by Indiana Republicans is rooted in misinformation, is wasting taxpayer dollars, and is hurting our families’ future in the process.

Let’s elect more Hoosier Democrats
We can't sit this one out.
