INDems Statement Commemorating National FFA Week, Democrats’ Delivering for Indiana’s Rural Communities

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Democratic Party, the organization that advocates for the future of Indiana and its families, today issued the following statement from Chairman Mike Schmuhl honoring National FFA Week, the annual tradition celebrating FFA and the impact farmers and rural communities have on the Hoosier State:

“The FFA is embroidered in American history, and on this day, we celebrate Indiana’s agriculture community, small towns, and young people. Members of the FFA are champions and future leaders of our nation who will advocate to conserve our natural resources, fight for agriculture sustainability, and learn life-changing leadership skills in the process. Democrats know Indiana cannot reach its full potential unless rural communities thrive, and it’s imperative that leaders in government always look after the folks who serve in an industry that sustains the lives and livelihoods of our state and nation.

Hoosier Democrats applaud the FFA and its members and alumni for answering the call to serve. Democrats join them in this effort and we will keep working overtime to ensure there’s a better future for every family regardless of where they call home. It’s why Democrats were proud to provide transformational investments to every county and for utilities critical for maximized growth in the state’s agriculture industry. This includes investing $7 billion to make our roads and bridges compliant for our combines and tractors, using more than $350 million to expand broadband access in our small towns, and delivering economic assistance to all 92 counties during COVID-19. Democrats secured this better future for Indiana’s farmers in every corner of this state.

Without a doubt the FFA will continue to inspire and cultivate some of our own future leaders in all 92 counties. They will transform and build a better tomorrow for Hoosier families, and Democrats celebrate their mission and success.”

– Mike Schmuhl, Chairman of the Indiana Democratic Party

Let’s elect more Hoosier Democrats
We can't sit this one out.
