INDems Statement on No Show Diego Morales Being a Flake, Refusing to Debate Destiny Wells

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Democratic Party, the organization that advocates for the future of Indiana and its families, today issued the following statement from Chairman Mike Schmuhl criticizing No Show Diego Morales for flaking out on tonight’s Indiana Secretary of State debate:

“No Show Diego Morales won’t debate Destiny Wells because he knows Hoosier voters will see that he has no business being Indiana’s next secretary of state. He has more baggage than a baggage claim and he is running away from his shady background, his extreme views, and any type of accountability to the people.

Diego doesn’t want to be asked why he was fired – twice – from the very Secretary of State’s office he now seeks to lead. Diego doesn’t want to be asked why he’s lied to Hoosiers about his background. Diego doesn’t want to be asked why he used campaign cash to buy himself a car. Diego doesn’t want to be asked why he wants to cut early voting days in half. Diego doesn’t want to be asked about the Republican women who have accused him of sexual assault.

Like the rest of the Indiana Republican Party, No Show Diego Morales believes the rules do not apply to him. He endorses dangerous views that are un-American and will take away our American-given rights at the ballot box. Diego Morales has no morals – just a desire for political power. His campaign is dangerous to all Hoosiers – Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians, and independents.

Still, there is hope. Hoosiers have a proven leader who can put an end to Diego Morales for good – Destiny Wells. Destiny is a veteran, attorney, and mother who is campaigning with the simple vision to maintain Indiana’s ‘safe and secure’ elections. Destiny will put Indiana’s future – not extremist agendas – first, because she knows Indiana’s future depends on steady, dependable leadership. This very fact is why Destiny Wells will beat Diego Morales on November 8th and become Indiana’s next Secretary of State.”
