INDems to Celebrate Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal for Remainder of “Small Town, Indiana” Tour

White House Fact Sheet: What the Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal means for Indiana and Hoosier families

Indiana Democrats will share how Democrats are delivering on agriculture, education, and infrastructure issues in rural communities

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Democratic Party, the organization that advocates for the future of Indiana and its families, today announced plans to celebrate the impact President Joe Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal will have on Hoosier families in all of Indiana’s 92 counties for the remainder of the Party’s “Small Town, Indiana” tour. From additional broadband investments (on top of funding set by the American Rescue Plan) to revitalizing roads and bridges and the state’s water infrastructure system, Indiana Democrats like Dr. Jennifer McCormick, INDems Chairman Mike Schmuhl, former Congressman Baron Hill, State Representative Ed Delaney, and others will share how Democrats will deliver a better future for Hoosiers after President Biden signs this bill into law later today.

An Indiana-specific report provided by the White House on the bipartisan bill can be found by clicking here. Details about upcoming “Small Town, Indiana” tour stops are forthcoming.

“When Joe Biden was sworn in as President, he promised Americans and Hoosiers that he would tell it straight and work across the aisle to form bipartisan coalitions to solve some of the most pressing problems facing the United States. The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act accomplishes this goal and thanks to U.S. Congressmen André Carson and Frank Mrvan, this bill delivers for all of Indiana on issues like broadband internet, roads and bridges, and public transit while also forcing partisanship to take a back seat,” said Mike Schmuhl, Chairman of the Indiana Democratic Party. “Unfortunately, Indiana Republicans always choose extreme partisanship when it matters most over creating a better future for Hoosier families. Democrats look forward to holding Indiana Republicans accountable with every ribbon cutting or photo-op they attend as they take credit for work they did not do. Simply put: they said ‘NO’ before taking the dough.”

Here’s how the Bipartisan Infrastructure Deal will create a better tomorrow for Indiana and Hoosier families no matter the Zip code:

ONE: About $7 billion will be delivered to Indiana to assist with repairs to roads and bridges in all 92 counties

TWO: Indiana will be provided about $680 million to improve public transportation systems in cities across the state

THREE: The state will receive about $100 million for broadband internet expansion. This investment is in addition to the $250 million provided by the American Rescue Plan

FOUR: Indiana will receive about $751 million to revitalize the state’s water infrastructure system, delivering safe and clean drinking water to all Hoosiers no matter the Zip code

FIVE: About $20 million will be provided to Indiana to help address extreme weather events that could happen in the state due to climate change

Let’s elect more Hoosier Democrats
We can't sit this one out.
