Democrats are asking Hoosiers to sign their names to a petition demanding the resignation of those complicit with Trumpism and the betrayal of American democracy
The Indiana Democratic Party also calls on Members of Congress Jim Banks, Jim Baird, Greg Pence, and Jackie Walorski to resign after discarding their constitutional duties too
Members of the Indiana Republican Party may have violated the 14th Amendment
INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Democratic Party, the organization that advocates for the future of Indiana and its families, today called on U.S. Senator Mike Braun to resign after he publicly and incessantly incited violence to overturn the presidential election and end American democracy as we know it. Braun’s rhetorical charade — which included seven flip-flops on the issue — was complicit with the domestic terrorist attack at the U.S. Capitol. Further, the Indiana Democratic Party is also calling for Members of Congress Jim Banks, Jim Baird, Greg Pence, and Jackie Walorski to resign for discarding their constitutional duties in favor of a vote for Trumpism and the end of the Republic.
Further, it begs the question if elected members of the Indiana Republican Party violated Section 3 of the 14th Amendment.
The Indiana Democratic Party has started a petition asking all Hoosiers to sign their name and demand that U.S. Senator Mike Braun and those Hoosier Republicans complicit with Trumpism to resign. They can sign the petition by clicking here.
“These are strong statements, but after yesterday’s attempted coup on our government that follows years of silence or being sycophants to Donald Trump, U.S. Senator Mike Braun and Members of Congress Jim Banks, Jim Baird, Greg Pence, and Jackie Walorski showed their true colors, and it’s that they value the fringe ideology of Trumpism over protecting the U.S. Constitution and the fundamental values of the United States of America,” said John Zody, Chairman of the Indiana Democratic Party. “It shouldn’t take a domestic terrorist attack at the U.S. Capitol for some to speak up, and these Indiana Republican politicians have disgraced Hoosiers’ trust to uphold their constitutional duties. They must resign, and if they don’t, now is the time for hardworking Indiana Democratic candidates to think about challenging them for re-election. Extraordinary times call for extraordinary actions – and that time is now. Sign the petition and then consider running.
