INDIANAPOLIS — Secretary Pete Buttigieg is returning to the Hoosier State today to visit projects in Gary, Elkhart, and Indianapolis.
During the two-day trip, Secretary Pete is meeting with union workers who are back to work on critical projects thanks to the proactive investments by the Biden-Harris Administration. In Indianapolis, he’ll meet with members of the Sheet Metal Workers, and in Northwest Indiana he’ll meet with members of the United Steelworkers.
This trip shows the administration’s continued commitment to growing union jobs, and making sure that workers have all the opportunities necessary to take advantage of America’s manufacturing boom.
Secretary Pete will also meet with local elected Hoosier Democrats to highlight projects to increase railroad safety, advance economic development, and protect schoolchildren paid for by the Infrastructure and Jobs Act.
These elected officials know that the progress being made in their communities is thanks to federal efforts that are creating jobs and raising union membership.
